Piano-Black Exterior Pillar Capping

This new grade of SAN with excellent gloss, color depth, and chemical resistance, plus high HDT was used for the first time as high-gloss capping on external vehicle surfaces replacing PMMA at 5-6% less weight and at least 10% lower cost.  A new color recipe with enhanced pigmentation provides brilliant, deep-black color, and a new UV-additive system (SPF 50) enhances weatherability of the premium surface.  The material offers excellent adhesion to ABS and PC/ABS. Lower internal mold pressures and lower processing temperature allow for faster cooling and shorter cycle times in the 2-component injection molding process used to form parts.

Powder-Coated Plastic Roof-Rack Cover

Conductive, powder-coatable MPPE/PA resin was used for this plastic roof-rack cover to ensure perfect color-match (metal-to-plastic) at lower cost vs. liquid paint. Not only were VOCs (from conventional paint) eliminated, but a 30% direct cost savings was also achieved.
