This instrument panel is the largest automotive component and first IP
molded with the patented MuCell injection-molding process. That
innovation was combined with 10% reactor-grade talc-filled PP, to create a
microcellular foam part that reduced weight over 1 lb, lowered cycle times by
15% and clamp tonnage by 45%, and saved an estimated $3 USD / vehicle vs. solid
injection molding.
