This door module was
molded from a new-generation grade of 32% short-glass-filled PP that replaced a
more costly long-fiber grade of PP. The new material was formulated for
optimized interfacial adhesion between matrix and reinforcement and to balance
impact and strength. As such, it provides superior creep resistance at room
temperature and comparable creep at elevated temperatures, provides comparable
“practical” impact strength, as well as superior knitline
strength, and excellent screw-torque retention. Supplied as a high-glass masterbatch that is pre-colored,
the material has excellent appearance and allows processors to customize glass
loading at the press.
