Charge-Port Bezel

This injection-molded charge-port bezel is industry's first and only molded-in-color semi-chrome look.  As such, it provides the focal point for charge-cord attachment for this battery-electric vehicle. It needs to be aesthetically appealing, hide the receptacle's features, provide scratch & mar resistance, be chemically resistant, and be weatherable enough to prevent cracks and chips.  By replacing chromed PC/ABS with POM and a unique metallic pigment package, the cost, time, and environmental issues associated with chrome plating or painting are eliminated. The MIC part offers a 0.1 kg weight savings and a $9 USD cost savings/part.
