These lightweight battery frames provide lower cost for a
long-range BEV. By changing from PA to
hydrolysis-resistant PPO resin, frame weight was reduced 13% and cost 20%,
tooling was simplified, and cycle times were shorter, plus surface finish
quality was higher for sealing applications.
