Cargo Box & End Gate Top Molding

A low CLTE TPO material, development of an integral snap-fit attachment, plus innovative design for assembly, fit and function enabled the production of 5, 6, and 8 ft long, MIC injection-molded side-rail and end-gate spoiler moldings for pickup cargo boxes.  To control fit and reduce paint rub, shrinkage properties of the material were characterized and part growth was directed toward front of the vehicle. Resultant parts are durable, scratch resistant, they mold well, and they hold their dimensions. Continuous-length edge gating in tooling helps control fill and part distortion along such a long part.
