Cargo Lamp with Reconfigurable Illumination Source

This injection-molded cargo lamp lens housing accepts 2 different light-source configurations:  either a bus bar with incandescent lamp, or a circuit board with LED source. The configurability of this single housing reduces engineering design time, tooling costs, and self-temperature regulation. A self-temperature regulation circuit mounted on the LED circuit board reduces power dissipation of sensitive components as temperature increases, allowing higher lighting output under normal conditions but protecting the lamp against extreme conditions. In turn, these savings contribute directly to lowering variable part costs 15%.
